Mobilities’ experiences in Spain

Mobilities’ experiences in Spain

Between the 17th and the 20th of May, Escola Virolai (Spain) received the teachers and students from Valmiera Pargauja Primary School (Latvia). Read their testimonials…

During the week we had the opportunity to host the Latvia exchange students and we showed them our favourite parts of the city. We started with our school and talked about our different teaching styles, it was great to get to know more about their culture. Later that they we took them to a restaurant were they got to experience traditional Catalan foods. On Thursday we went to Park Güell and talked to them about modernism and Antoni Gaudí. After lunch we had the small scale event and learned a lot about how they developed their project. On our last they with the Latvia students we went to Born and showed them around. Then we went around the beach biking and got to see all the cool landscapes, they loved the Catalan beach. Over all we had a great time and would love to have them over again anytime.

Latvian Team (4 students and 2 teachers) had a great opportunity to attend the Program for Mobility on 17tf- 21st May, which were hosted by Virolai School – Barcelona – Spain. We had 4 fulfilled days with super hospitable students and teachers from Virolai School. We had opportunity to visit Virola and Reina Elisenda’s schools, meet their Management and even take part in some classes which was great experience and we had chance to take some “good examples” to implement in our educational system in Latvia.  Between school visits and experience exchange, Virolai students organized to us fantastic Barcelona introduction program – we had a very valuable walk around Passeig de Gràcia and modernism tour, cultural visit for Barselona and memorable bike tour along Mediterranean beaches. In social dinner we had chance to  get to know each other better and introduce with Barcelona traditional and super tasty meals. At the end of the program we had meeting where Students presented the MYP they have been working on to other students and teachers.

We spend fantastic and very valuable time in Barcelona and we would like to warmly THANK Christian and all Virolai School students for such a warm welcoming.
